How to Take Care of Our Home

On April, the International Mother Earth Day was celebrated, a date designated to pay tribute to the planet that serves as our home. On the one hand, this day serves to become aware of the main problems the world is facing, such as overexploitation of natural resources, pollution or global warming; and on the other hand to demonstrate the interdependence of ecosystems and living beings, as well as the great importance of conservation of the biodiversity.

From Dee Dee we also want to contribute in raising awareness of these important issues, so we present a decalogue developed by the World Association of Early Childhood Educators (WAECE) to teach to the little ones to respect the environment and our planet.

1. Recycling is fun if it is taught as a game.

2. Saving water is essential, so it is better to shower than to bathe and the tap must be turned off when it is not being used.

3. Trash to the trash bin because cleaning nature begins with that simple gesture.

4. Save energy to protect the environment, lights and electrical appliances should be turned off when they are not being used.

5. Reuse objects and give them a new life to minimize pollution, it is also a great exercise of generosity so that children learn to give away what they will not use anymore.

6. Teach that plants and trees are living beings that must be respected.

7. Take care and be responsible with animals and pets.

8. Respect and take care of everything in the public and natural space, since it belongs to all of us.

9. Optimize resources such as paper or water, using both sides of the sheet or watering the plants with the water that has been used for cooking.

10. Respect and care for all people, because we are also part of Nature.
